Welcome to Mt Somers Holiday Park, situated at Mt Somers on the Inland Scenic Route 72, between Christchurch and Queenstown. We are conveniently located just 1 hour's drive south of Christchurch Airport and only 1 hour's drive to the beautiful Mackenzie Basin. The park has a tranquil setting amongst established trees and offers a choice of accommodation to suit all budgets and requirements, with a peaceful night's sleep assured. Pets are welcome by arrangement.
New owners Georgie and Pete invite you to enjoy our quaint country setting near the mountains – a great basecamp for walks, lakes and Mt Sunday (aka Edoras from The Lord of the Rings).

About Us
Hi, we're Amy and Cam, your hosts here at Mount Somers Holiday Park. We live on-site with our two boys and have quickly come to love calling this little corner of Mid Canterbury home.
We took over the day-to-day running of the park in May 2026 and have been busy putting our own touch on things ever since. There's always something happening around here, whether we're welcoming guests, working away on the park, tackling the next project, or just enjoying life in Mt Somers with our family.
We love that the park brings together such a mix of people. Some are here to explore the mountains and walking tracks, some are passing through on a bigger adventure, and others simply want a quiet place to put their feet up for a few days. Whatever brings you our way, we hope you'll feel at home while you're here.
The Holiday Park is owned by Georgie and Pete, who moved to Mt Somers with their two daughters and purchased the park looking for a new challenge and a life closer to nature. They're currently living and working in Samoa, while we look after the park here in Mt Somers.
